Digging Out Raspberry Plants on New Year’s Day 🍓
It’s the first day of January, and instead of staying indoors, I’m outside in my garden digging out raspberry plants. With a rare dry winter day in West Sussex, I finally tackled a job I had been putting off for a long time.
This video shows the reality of removing established raspberries from a small kitchen garden, how invasive their roots really are, how they behave in heavy clay soil, and why planting them in a tight space turned out to be a mistake.
Along the way, I also share a winter update on my garlic and onion seedlings grown in modules, and my plans to move the raspberries and rhubarb to the allotment, where they’ll have the space they need to grow properly.
