Digging Out Raspberry Plants on New Year’s Day – Kitchen Garden Reality

Published: 9 January 2026 · Watch on YouTube

New Year’s Day in the garden instead of indoors. On a rare dry winter day, I finally tackle a job I’d been avoiding for a long time: digging out established raspberry plants from my small kitchen garden. This video shows how invasive raspberry roots can be, especially in heavy clay soil, and why planting them in a tight space was a mistake. I also share a winter update on garlic and onion seedlings grown in modules, plus plans to move the raspberries and rhubarb to the allotment where they’ll have room to spread.

December Garden Tour 2025 – Winter Tasks & Raspberry Invasion

Published: 21 December 2025 · Watch on YouTube

In mid-December the garden is mostly resting, but I’m busy in the veg patch: the raspberries have started spreading under and into the raised bed, so I’m digging out a surprising network of roots, saving canes, and planning to move the whole patch to the allotment. I also share an update on the allotment (very wet ground), garlic that had to go into modules, and a quick, slightly chaotic planting session with narcissus, muscari, and crocus bulbs.

November Garden Tour 2025 – Late Autumn, New Allotment Plot

Published: 30 November 2025 · Watch on YouTube

End-of-November update from my windy UK garden (Chichester, West Sussex). It’s been a tough month health-wise, so the garden is a bit neglected — but there’s still plenty to share: a surprisingly great pepper harvest in the shed, the first look at my brand new allotment plot (and a soggy entrance!), plus some honest tidying in the kitchen garden, aphids on garlic, and plans to move plants like verbena, rhubarb and raspberries to their new home.

October Garden Tour 2025 – Early Autumn Update

A follow-up to the September tour: this time I’m showing the “tree border” with ornamental cherries, apples and pears (yes, quite a lot for a small UK garden!), the new flower border by the garage that got damaged in the September storm, and dahlias which are still flowering.
